Pain killers and rain gear. Nothing is worse than being sore and wet.

Also, keep chewing gum to chew so you don't get all tensed up and work yourself up a headache.
Earplugs or earbuds to keep the noise out of your ears for hours on end.

Zip lock bags are good for lots of things, buy several sizes.

Don't forget medications (and take 1 day extra). I found small ziplock bags by pharmacy in Walmart that I put each day worth of meds & vitamins in, then all in a bigger ziplock bag. I buy the travel size plastic bottles from Wal-mart for shampoo, etc.

Fold your clothes in half or fourth, then roll tightly. Take a couple of 1 or 2 gallon size zip lock bags for dirty clothes (and squeeze air out as you put stuff in), makes finding clean clothes easier and you carry bags to do laundry (most mid-priced hotels has self service washer & dryer). I put enough detergent for 1 load in 1 small zip lock bag, fabric softner in another, then both in a bag.

We use the tourpak liner bags as luggage and I found after I pack it, I lay it on the bed or floor, sides down and push the rounded center in to make flatter, then carry to bike on it's side, makes it easier to slide in.

Don't forget your swimming trunks.

Those hotel pools feel really good after a full day on the road...

I'd also figure in a few extra hours each day for stops, and to get side tracked. No need to be in a hurry...

You only need two things:
1. A credit card
2. A good pistol.

If the first one won't take care of it, the second one will.....
