Default Road King Comparison: LRS Windshield Vs. Clearview

Looking to switch from the standard windshield a recurve one to reduce the wind behind the shield a bit - standard height is fine as I'm 6'3.

I need your help... I'm looking for your experiences on each one: pros & con's on each one and why you chose the one you did. I'm leaning toward the LRS shield based on price alone, but I've heard really great things on both.

Any advise is greatly appericated!!

I'm happy with my lrs 19" king shield with light tint.I'm 5'11" and had a real issue with helmet buffeting with the stock windshield.I used to get headaches when running at highway speeds.I put on the the lrs and the buffeting was cut in half. Then I put on lower fairings and now I can cruise on the interstate at 70mph with no more headaches.

I don't have any experience with Clearview, but I'm 5-10 and I completely DIG my LRS 19" with no tint. Great craftsmanship (thicker than stock), love the curve, etc.

I've had a light smoke (or light grey, can't emember which) Clearview 6.5" recurve on my 07 FLHX since I got it. It's a high quality piece and the recurve does work on it. I had bad buffeting with the stock windshield. Added the lower air baffle and that helped some. Then added the clearview windshield and it's pretty much gone unless I sit completely straight up on the bike on the interstate over 70 mph. I'm 6' 1" and probably need a taller windshield but the 6.5 clearview was perfect for keeping the look of the FLHX but giving me a lot more wind protection. I know it's not a Road King but, just wanted to say that I can vouch for their products being of good quality.

I've tried both. The LRS is better quality and the clearview people are not the most honest people around, I'll never do business with them again.

Long Ride 19" medium tint here and I love it. Can not compare to Clear view because I have not had any experience with them. I am 5'11" and the 19" is perfect for me but I would think you would need the 21" at your height. Mine is the only Road King on this page (3rd bike down) if you want to see how the tint looks. http://www.longrideshields.com/testimonials.html
