yesterday i was riding my '02 electra glide and the transmission was howling in 4th gear. it sounded like a timing gear drive on a hot rod. it got so loud i started shifting from 3rd straight to 5th and vice versa.

any idea what would cause that? it drives fine, it's just loud.

 

this is new, no changes to the bike-?

lube level is correct?

the design of the 5 speed makes for a whiny 4th-- but if this is new, you may want to get it in before it grenades your cases or locks up on the 101

might be a though to get a 6 into 5 gearset
