Default Auto-Tune Trim

Can someone tell me if it is normal for the trim values between the #1 Cyl and the #2 Cyl to be substantialy different? I was noticing the tips on my ovals getting darker (copper color not heat because it whipes away) so I decided to plug in the PC to the PCV and see what was going on. I was looking through the trim values and noticed the the number 2 cyl, about 4000 RPM's 100% is substantially different then the number 1. When I say substantially different I mean like -1 and 7. another thing I noticed is that I am only seeing values in the 100% throttle column. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

You might do better on this q over in the tech forums. There a sub forum dedicated to fuel injection and ecm issues.
Good luck

The AT trims are really dependent on the values in your base map. I looked at my map and have fuel table values that differ by as much as 5 in the 100% throttle column between cylinders.

I wouldn't be as concerned with your trim value differences (8) between cylinders at 100% throttle as I would be would your lack of values in the other areas of the map. I don't care how precise your map is there should be some random trim values scattered throughout the map. Lack of any trim values tells me your AT isn't working properly or is somehow disabled in those areas.

Now that you mention it the auto tune light in the software was coming on while it was idling so I know it was working but I guess I need to figure out why it was not updating the trim cells.

Thank you for the input.

How long did you run the bike before looking at the trim values? When I'm using the AT for tuning on my bike I do a minimum 15-20 mile run with as much variance as possible in conditions, i.e., freeways, city streets, canyons, byways, etc., and throttle inputs/positions, engine loads, rpm's, etc., before looking at the trims.

I have been riding it for a month with the auto tune enabled.

With that being the case I'm certain you have an issue with the lack of trim values throughout the map.

Look at the AFR Target table. Is that entire table populated with AFR targets? Any field not populated, or with a zero in it, will not be subject to the AT function.

Do you have a "hard switch" in your set up?
