Apparently the chance of a failure is directly proportional to the latitude you are in and if you have your cat still in the headpipe. Northern latitudes (cooler) and bikes without cats are seeing low to no failure rate.
My brake switch fails when the outside temperature is above 95 degrees. Mostly my cruise control kicks off. Kind of startling when it happens at 75mph.
I have not changed the switch yet because I just hate to leave it at the dealer. But he promises it will only take 15 minutes while I wait. So I will get it done pretty soon.
