Is this a true syn oil or is it just a face lift. I went by the stealer yeaterday and saw this new syn 20/50 motor oil. The dude said it was true syn oil and that they do not carry the other type anymore. Can anyone show me the light!!!!
I don't know, but I would never give the dealership money on oil. There are tons of better brands of synthetic readily available at any autoparts store or Walmart.

Reformulated? This stuff has worked great for decades.
I did a little research on these oils, they are made by Citgo. Formula+ is just a straight 50wt oil with very little in the way of additives (according to tests posted on bobistheoilguy). I haven't read any info on Syn3, but I suspect it's a mediocre synthetic sold at a premium price.
Warranty may be a good reason to use HD oils, and I'm sure both of these wouldn't cause any oil related problems, but there are certainly far better oils available for less money.
