again, thanks for the info gentlemen. I keep going back and forth in my head if I'd actually make a change from an Ultra to a Road King. I've done some numbers and have come to the conclusion that IF i decided to go with a King that it would be the standard Road King. I like the looks of the Classic better but the numbers tell me I'd go with the standard. The only thing i DON'T like on the standard model is the tank badge. an actual emblem is much nicer IMHO.

Can you add cruise control to the standard RK? I'd sure recommend it.

You can. Cruise is not a deal breaker for me though. I don't use it too often.

"04 Road King Classic. Stock seat is in the closet but only because it was too narrow for the wife. For me, it was very comfortable. Swapped it out for the "comfort stitch" seat which is 16" wide for the passenger. Now she is happy too.

I have the leather covered bags and they have held up fine for nearly 40,000 miles. Both seats look like brand new and the bags have held up well. I just use a little leather conditioner on them about every month or so.

As subjective as seat comfort is, your question is primarily for those with healthy backs which mine is not. I liked the stock RK seat as long as it had a backrest on it. Without, I was practically in traction. I currently have the Mustang super wide solo with a backrest and after breaking it in, it's as comfortable as this back of mine is going to let me.
