I just ordered a Arai RX-Q also in matt black. Great helmets. Great quality, comfortable and in my opinion one of the safest helmets out there. Ive gone down a few times on the track and always wore my Arais. I actually ordered my new one from www.rockheadbikes.com but I called them up. They always offer some extra discounts if the order is called in if you ask them. I got 15% off of mine.
They make a great helmet, I have the XD3 from my dual sport days.
Recently bought a shoei neotech cause i wanted a modular. My first try with the pinlock system and i can't believe how good they work.
Will wear a FF helmet from now on even though it interferes with my posing.
Enjoy,Great choice
I bought a new bucket this winter - very light, quiet not cheap but hard to beat - took a bit to break in - love the built in sun visor, you don't have to worry about wearing sun glass's - no one discounts these guys - tom -

That article is outdated, as the SNELL2010 standard has addressed the (absolutely legitimate) issues raised there.
I wear an Arai Signet-Q, which is nearly identical to the RX-Q, just shaped for a more oval head. It's a pleasure to wear. It's very light, very quiet, vents well, and looks good. If you're worried about heat, don't get a black helmet.
It is an old article. Is it wrong? They posted Snell's answer. Is that what you are referring to? If not, perhaps you should post what ever it is you are referring to.

Arai's are great helmets, that's for sure. I have a Shoei Qwest for use in colder weather, and a Simpson half-lid that I'll wear on shorter slower rides. Wanted something in between for the majority of the rides, so I got a GForce Pro Phenom 3/4 helmet. Looks like the older Simpson/Bell helmets that NASCAR drivers wore back in the day of open face helmets. May not look like a "typical" motorcycle helmet, but I don't care. Fits great, comfortable, and carries good safety rating (Snell SA2010).
