I had the dealer install the hidden antenna. Best upgrade! The ugly stick is gone and I don't have to worry about it anymore.

I removed my HD shorty antennas and went back to the stock whips. The shorties looked nice, but reception sucked in rural areas.

Tried hidden antenna, did not work very well out on the open road in the remote part of the UP of Michigan where I live. Maybe OK in metropolitan areas with many more stations to choose from.

I relocated the stock antenna into the fairing and it works pretty well. I have spoken to several HD dealers, they tell me that if your bike has a metallic paint job then don't bother with the HD powered antenna. If you do not have a metallic paint job then you should be ok.

Bro. Joe, I have the HD stubbys and have never had a problem with them vibrating loose. On another note could you let me know where you got your avatar of the compass and square from?

I have an 09 Pewter Denim SG. I believe the guy that owned the bike put in a hogtune no show in the inner fairing, I'm not very impressed with this thing at all I want to change it with another no show to see if anything gets better or worse. If nothing changes I think I'll be going with one of these shorties and trying to hide it somewhere up the side anyone got pictures of how they hid antenna's would be interested in seeing how it can be done.

Thanks

I have athe 2009 SG with the HD Boom hidden antenna. It works just as good or better than the stock antenna.
