Default HD LED Headlight ?

For anyone that the HD/JW Speaker LED headlight, does this headlight stick out and "require" the frenched trim ring to make it look right?

For those that want to chime in on the Phase 7 headlight, don't.
I have read all the reviews including the extensive comparison review done by the 2 guys whose names escape me at this moment.
I do not like the hot spot and V pattern the Phase 7 emits so I chose not to use it.
Your opinions may vary, but they only apply to you.

My buddy has one on his road king.
He has the trim ring on his but the light itself looks to me like it sits inside it about the same depth as my stock setup with the same trim ring.

Saw an ultra parked at my local dealership that had one with what appeared to be the stock trim ring. Didn't appear to look any worse than the stock set-up sitting right next to it.

Going through the TL vs. JW decision now myself...if it weren't for the "holy sh*t" price on the HD lights I would have already gone the HD route for the reason you mentioned.

I put the HD one on my Street Glide, it is an exact replacement, does not extend out at all with the stock trim ring. The only difference to me is the smoked lens and the wild looking lights inside, but the fit is exactly as the stock bulb was......

I have the HD LED headlight on my 12 Streetglide. Fits and looks exactly like the stock headlight. I have seen the phase 7 on a friend's Streetglide and it sticks out alot. I don't like the way it looks even with the french rim add-on. To me the extra cost for the HD product is worth it to maintain the stock look on an expensive bike.

Same as stock. Dealer installed on on a floor model and it looks the same as the stock headlight housing.
