I've seen a 103 with the heads and cams done produce more then a 107 without heads done. Cams will run you about $500 installed, Head work will run you around $1000, PC-V $300, good tune around $250.

where are you finding cams installed for $500? shops around here are way north of that!
Do it yourself. It's very easy. I did mine for less than $200.
+1
I did mine as well and not very difficult at all. Get the service manual and pretty much step-by-step. I also did the 107 kit myself and used the manual for that as well.

Maybe they're real cheap cams! 2-1-2 Headpipe, Jackpot 4" Mufflers, Power Vision Tuner, FM Hi-flow air filter, TW-555 cams, Adjustable pushrods and install kit from Fuel Moto runs about $1900. Add to that about $800 or so for the 107" kit and lifters, you're at about $2700 if you do the labor. You'll definitely like he pull you get with the cams on the 103". I idid that before my 107", I like feeling the improvements as they progress.
Lots of ways to get a bit more pull out of your scooter. Head work alone will produce a much better performance than stock. You can add cams later on. Heck, even doing a dyno tune by a competant indy can produce a better running bike all by itself.
Here is an idea for you to think about http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...bmLocale=en_US
for pistons SE Forged High-Compression Pistons for stock

P/N 22144-08B 299.00
for heads screamin eagleŽ Pro cnc ported factory
cylinder heads with valve upgrade
16500067 exchange Program. $649.95
for cams se-259e cam Kit efi*

If you want to keep your stock heads
you will need these springs
screamin eagle valve spring Kits*
18273-00 5/16" dia. Valve Stems:

so you are looking at 750.00 + tax and labor
without heads, or you are looking at 1250.00 with heads
+ tax and labor
I do labor only cam installs for $300 all day long.. bring your parts and bike, 3-4 hours later ride out

guys, i'm not looking to have it done, i was just questioning where z71 was finding cam installs, with parts, for $500.00....... now that i know that that is 'his' install price, that's something that the op may not be able to take advantage of and is not really a fair comparison.
