Buffeting on Ultra Classic
Been working on buffeting on my 09 UC and put on the fork deflectors and they made a significant positive difference in the air flowing up the front of the tank. As to the windshield, I'd been using a standard shape 10-inch shield and still had a lot of air around my eyes/face. Not enough to affect my glasses but more than I wanted. I switched it out today for the stock 12-incher and that helped a lot. My question is, would a 10-inch Windsplitter or KW,Fastaire, etc. divert the air around my head as well as or better than my 12-inch non-curved standard windshield as the 10-inch allows me to look over the top.
Thanks in advance for any input on this.

I'm leaving the 12'' stock windshield on my 2011 Electra Glide Classic. It works just fine.

We have a 12 Ultra EG and am going through the same issue. At highway speeds (75-80) the buffetting can get so bad, I have to drop my speed down to 65 - 70. Was wondering where you got your deflectors, price and will they work with lowers?
Thanks.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
Nice ride you got there. The fork deflectors are a Harley part and retail at $69.95 but I got a 10% military discount. Don't know how popular they are - the original box mine came in had 2004 on it. Anyway, they will work with lowers - someone on the forum mentioned the lowers will slide just enough(I'm talking less than a quarter inch here) to turn lock to lock without the deflectors touching the lowers.
Good luck - hope we can lick this buffeting thing.

Not all that attractive but as I said they made a significant difference toward reducing the air coming up over the front of the tank. JES Customs makes a set with cut-outs for the lowers but they're over twice the price.
Good luck - hope we can lick this buffeting thing.

2009 UC - center stand, Rush slip-ons, some sparkly stuff. Oh, and so far, not a single problem after 32K miles.
