I know, when the wind hits me it's gonna blow me off the road, ect.......
I have bags, I don't think it will be that bad. If so, I'll hold on tighter, lol.
I am ordering a PM 21" Hooligan front wheel, and I think I want a solid chrome disc-type wheel for the rear.
Who makes one in 17" (to keep my ride & stock tire) that I can fit on my '11 Street Glide? I am having a pretty hard time finding one, or will a Deuce/ FatBoy wheel work? Thanks!!
i was thinking the same thing. i liked this look on my sportster custom, and i figured that since most of the rear wheel was covered with the bags, sprocket, etc. that having a solid disk wheel would nicely offset a nice front wheel.
having the stock rear wheel, would look just like that, a stock rear wheel with a nice front.
in other words, i don't have any answers for you, but tagging along just to see who does
I am just thinking with that Hooligam wheel cleaning the rear is gonna be a pain on the left side to really get it right. Plus a mirror disc is going to show off my chrome rotor and pully I'll still put back there....cheaper is also a good incentive! lol......

i have thought about going this route myself...for a few reasons..one being that i like the look and price of the 19" Agitator but i DON"T like the fact that they only offer the rear in 18" from what i understand the 18" actually raises the rear about 1/2 inch...and with me standing at 5'6" with a 30" inseam thats NOT sounding so good
i actually WANT a 19" - 17" wheel combo
now... for you... first of all your back whell is not 17"..it's 16" (or at least it should be on a 2011 SG) so your plan to keep your back tire isn't gonna work out
second.. as for the 17" solid wheel or "smoothie" check HOGPRO....
i'd go 17 x 6.25 in the rear with a 200 back tire....
Hmm, could have sworn the stock back wheel was a 17.....I will check HogPro real quick for 16 & 17 both.....Thanks!
Edit: Dam! a grand just for a smoothie! That's a bit more than what I was thinking....at that rate I could get a matching rear almost....doesn't anyone know if a fatboy or duece wheel could be made to fit? Different hubs or something?
Yeah, I found the one from Yaffe for about $750. I don't know, I will check with a dealer and see if the FatBoy wheel fits....you can get those all day long for $300-ish
i'd be interested to hear what they say..... I always thought it would be better (probably for everyone) if HD had things like wheels be more interchangable... think about the accessory catalog... if you have a bagger you can pick from these 4 wheels, a softail these 4 wheels.... just seems stupid...it would provide more options to buyers and i'd have to think it would lower HD production costs..... ANyway, maybe i'm getting ahead of myself... I think too much
