Default Safe to ride to tuner?

Hello,

Just picked up a new 12 SG. I plan on adding SE intake/VH dresser duals/CFR slip-ons/cams???/Tuner???. I will be mounting the intake and header/slip-ons but will have the dealer add the cams/tuner/dyno. Can the bike be rode 23 miles to the dealer with just the intake and pipes added without running the risk of a lean condition causing damage or should I trailer it there?

Thanks,

Your bike will not blow up. ECM/Sensors will compensate.

23 miles, hell you can ride 23,000 miles with it like that.
Seems most 103 owners only do air and pipes and No tuner. Since your ecm is smarter than the older bikes, it knows what to do as Keithhu stated.

The ECM can do a good job at adjusting the fuel supply for air cleaner and slip-on mods, but the dresser duals may be pushing it.

Of course, you're only going 23 miles...

I wouldn't sweat 23 miles. 2,300 miles on the other hand.....No.

Yes, I would have to agree with this, there are widespread reports of bikes with A/C and slipons without tuners blowing up spontaneously when ridden this way more than 2000 miles.

Thanks for the input. I did not think it would be a problem in that short of a distance but wanted to here from people in the know.

Enjoy your summer!
