For that kinda money your in 05 and 06 territory. I paid 15K OTD at a stealer for a 05 RK with 13K on her and 2 new WWW tires and a new windshield. Many think that this price is still to high but then, they werent looking at the bike, and beauty is in the eye...
Prices on ebay are not indicitive of what you can expect, unless you find one that sold in your area. The price will vary considerably, according to what part of the country you're looking, and time of the year. I have on 01 Road King (some extras)with 6000 miles, and figure it's worth about 11,500 to 12,000. I just sold an 05 Ultra for 16,000 the week before thanksgiving. I was looking to cut back on the number of bikes I had, but turned around and bought an 06 Street glide 2 weeks ago for 13,000. Wasn't really looking for another bike, but the guy needed to get rid of it, and I couldn't pass up the deal.Seems likethe best deals come along, when you aren't really looking.
15k for a bike that is 8 model years old....... that was 16k or less to begin with ? Where are you when I want to sell ( get my money back ). No matter how you look at low mileage it is still an old bike that depreciates. The glory years are over and there are a million bikes to choose from. Call and ask the dealer what he would pay ( tell them you have to sell yours for cash ). I bet you don't get the msrp song and dance. How about the guy that wanted to trade his 06 3 month old ultra for an 07 ? Did they quote him somewhere in the 6800. difference range as I recall? That equates to a 33% loss in 1 model year. 10k for a 2000 would be retail. Your in the right ball park, now just take your time and look.
Yeah, I'll get my money in place for the spring and put an offer out. If he's not near the 10,000.00 mark I'll shop around. Having the cash in hand is great... I'll have to exercise some control to get a fair deal!
I paid $13,600 the weekend before thanksgiving for an 06 Road King Classic with 2900 miles on it. The deals are out there if you have the cash in hand and the paitence to wait for it.
I don't know why specifically, but people in NJ, MA and RI still think they can upcharge by $1000 to $2000 on the total price - like they used to do back in the late ninties and early 2000's -
That's not the deal anymore and you should run (not walk) from anyone trying to pull that crap...
