Xied's Question
I bought a new 2010 StreetGlide in Feb 2010. Coming from an EVO, the jump to 96 cubes was big for me. I thought the stock bike ran like a raped ape! I left the bike totally stock as I felt it was all I wanted and/or needed. Not long after I bought the bike I began running into all sorts of people telling me how underpowered and HOT the stock bikes were/are, and literally everyone telling me I needed to swap exhausts, AC and get a tuner. Still under factory warranty I was in no hurry to do anything that would void the warranty, and, like I said, I was happy with the stock setup.
Then I stumbled upon a thread discussing these Xeids and decided to look into them.
Supposed to "cool" the engine and improve response and performance. All that for a little over a C note. Hmmmm, sounded like something I should do, right?
Well I added them and have been running them since around May of 2010 or almost 20K miles. Here is my opinion from my own personal experience:
I have no idea if they work or not. Period. My MPG has been consistently 45 mpg.
Still running stock. I have no trophies for any races.

No, they were not designed to use a "stock" cover other than the flat plate end covers that look like a Darby Cover but with only a single center hole. That is why part of their name is "NAKED" I have a 2007 Sportster and there is no way that my stock a/c cover would ever fit.
Here's the quote from the V & H website. Don't accuse people of giving bad info if you don't know what you're talking about.
"For those wanting to keep the stock look, but not necessarily the stock performance, Vance & Hines now offers its VO2 Air Intake as a high flow replacement kit for use with your stock air cleaner cover."
I'd really be interested in seeing your dyno results after the A/C upgrade, maybe when your dealer has another special you can have it done, and chime in on it to let us know. I've ran the XIEDS on my ultra for 2 years now with a stage 1, and so far so good but i would really love to see a dyno, beings i never seen one on here with that set up, my dealer NEVER!!! has offered it that's why i haven't gone to do it and it sure would answer a lot of question's on this topic, thanks!!!

"For those wanting to keep the stock look, but not necessarily the stock performance, Vance & Hines now offers its VO2 Air Intake as a high flow replacement kit for use with your stock air cleaner cover."[/quote]
And here is a QUOTE that is a direct cut and paste from the Instruction Manual for the V02 Naked taken directly from their website.
7. This kit does not allow for the re-installation of the OEM air fi lter cover. Vance
and Hines Skullcap covers are recommended, #71013 (Chrome) and #71015
(Black). If not use 5/16-18 x1/2 button head bolt (supplied) in center hole of airv filter (13).
I have one installed on my bike and (as I said before) There is no way what-so-ever that my stock a/c filter cover would ever fit it.
Oh, and yes, I did see where you got your quote and I would love to have someone come tell me how I could use my stock a/c filter cover without either shifting the cover drastically forward or back to use an existing hole or drilling a big hole right in the center of my cover. Either way, it still won't look stock with either way.
Or maybe when they say: "For those wanting to keep the stock look, but not necessarily the stock performance, Vance & Hines now offers its VO2 Air Intake as a high flow replacement kit for use with your stock air cleaner cover." They mean they offer a different V02 filter that is not the "Naked" kit but a different kit. Because if you notice they DON'T say "Naked" in your quote. MMMMM I wonder?
