I weigh 172 , 6'-0 tall. Changing HD bikes 07 FLSTF to my RKC, really like the ride of the king. Rear shocks feel pretty good.

I found the 940 springs way too stiff on my 2010 SG. Lots of guys have sent their stock 940 springs back for softer ones. I'd like to think Progressive may have gotten the message and they now come with softer springs than they did when the first introduced the 940 a couple years ago.

I have the 940s with the softer springs. The ride is way better than stock. I am 190 lbs and ride with the shocks at the softest setting when riding solo. I will be ordering the Monotubes soon.

Is the part number the same for the shock with the new lighter spring? Found a used set for sale.

I'm not seeing it. Ran those 944's for some time. Both HD and standard spring. And they are an upgrade over the stock'ers for sure. Just keep in mind the stockers are pure junk so really it doesn't take much to upgrade from them.

I've since upgraded to JRI-B's. It's crazy how these things perform. Anything Progressive can't compare to the JRI's.

Default Revisit the Shocks

I'm bringing this thread back up to see what new info we might have gained on these Progressive 944's and the Front mono tubes.
Are they holding up? Still feel the swap out at what is now about $950 is worth it?

Weigh 250, and have have 84,000 on my '05 Ultra. I've changed out the stock rear shocks once already at about 50K, and put thicker shock oil in the fronts at about 60k. I find $950 a big price tag, especially on an older bike (by Harley standards). Just want to make sure it's going to be worth it.

Any input from those who've been using these shocks is welcome.

940s will probably be my next upgrade. How difficult are they to change settings from solo to 2up? Ease of adjustment is probably the only good thing that the stock air shocks have, and wonder how easy it is to change the 940 shocks.
