engine oil pump mod - intake screens
We all know that the oil pump in a harley is there to protect the filter....and it does that well....just read a thread about a 120 motor that took some metal chips in the pump and took out half the engine. My pump was out yesterday for a cam upgrade...did this oil pump screen mod. here is the kit. Granted, if the screens get clogged...you will get reduced oil pressure...only way to clean is to remove the oil pump and back flush the screens....beats major motor work.

before installing the screens, the scavenge hole has to be reamed out to 1/2 inch. you can use a drill bit, but I wouldn't...best bet is a glass/tile bit....it won't snag and crack your aluminum. Here is the scavenge with the reaming done. the bit cuts like butter so it's one quick triggger pull and your half an inch in the hole.
