Can you post a picture of the location for the O2 sensors? I have seen some that show the rear sensor right in plain view. Not sure if I would be one of the people it would bug.. LOL

I put the 09 style power duals on mine so I could use the Thundermax tuner. Between losing the cat and the new tuner, the performance difference is phenomenal!
Cant say I hate the deeper sound either

I wonder why they did not leave them in the stock location or at least close to the stock location? Did you have to re-rout the rear O2 sensor plug?
Yes, I had to re route to find a shorter path back to where they plug in and not look too bad as well. V&H includes a clamp that you should use to hold the wire so its not out just there. The clamp uses an existing screw and its all explained in their instructions. At first I did not use it but did not like the wire "loose" so using this clamp helped tuck it away.
Another tip, I did not like the exhaust port gaskets they supply. Looks like steelwool, its thick and a pain to put in correctly/evenly so I bought a pair od the stock (tapered gaskets) and as mentioned here, put them in the freezer overnight for a nice easy fit. Make sure you remove the old gasket as its going to look like there isn't one there. Good luck.

Well I picked up the power duals on the way home last night. I did not get very far with installing them due to how late it was.
I will say this though, I am not very happy with the "Fit and Finish" of this product. There are tool marks from where the pipes were bent and formed that are so deep they have huge burrs that sliced my thumb open.

The heat shields will cover this up but it will still be visible if you look for it. Without the heat shields on, you can see these marks from several feet away. But it is what it is and I am not waiting on another set of pipes. I am going to throw these on the bike and just forget about the blemishes.

I know there are others here besides my self who have and have had questions about O2 port locations , ect. I will take pictures tonight of both the stock and V&H head pipes side by side so hopefully folks can stumble across this thread in the future when they are searching for info on it.

Sorry to hear about your thumb. Can you grind them smooth with a Dremel? Mine was nice and clean/smooth at the joints or bends. So smooth I even polished them before installing them lol! Good luck in your installation. Take your time

Yeah I was expecting smooth too and was very surprised to see the gouges all over the pipes at every bend. Looks like a 2" wide "Jaw" or some holding fixture was used when bending and the pipes rotated in the jaws or something.
It is like this even on the cross under pipe for the left side. I will get some detailed pictures and post them tonight. Just pisses me off that for the same money others pay, I get gouged up pipes. Why even go thru the trouble of plating them if they are all marked up?

Makes me wonder if V&H sells "Blemished" pipes to dealers at a discount like I have seen other manufacturers do. I am going to send pictures to V&H too and see what they have to say about it.

The supplied gaskets are pretty much just like the SE gaskets that HD sells. I believe you do need to be careful with fitment if you go back to the OE tapered as these are designed to fit with the flat gasket. Mine had no problems sealing properly.

Ditto what ColoSpgsMark said: The supplied gaskets worked quite well, and I had no prob getting a good seal with them on the Power Duals.

My only bitch about the install was how tedious it was to get all the heat shields positioned correctly, and (especially) how much of a pain it was to get the support bracket installed/tightened in the small space left to work after getting the pipes into place on the bike. Time consuming and contortionist process, that! Glad I got a good seal 1st time, as back-tracking would have been a real PITA.

You didn't expect them to be perfect for $200.00 did ya'? That price didn't seem right at all, you kind of would expect something to be wrong with them. I paid 415 shipped to my door from Dr. V-Twin and I love 'em!

I did NOT buy the $200 set, those are for the 09' model. I went ahead and ordered a set for the 2010-2012 for $439. These are the ones with the tool marks.
