Oh to be contrarian. I test rode the RGU, RGC and Ultra LTD yesterday. I have wanted a Road Glide for months and loved the bike until.....I rode the Ultra LTD. Maybe it is because my last bike was 2003 EGU but once I got on it, it felt like I was home. It felt smaller (not a bad thing and a reason some folks love the RG instead) and was easier for me to manuever, especially when doing figure 8s in a parking lot. I expected the RG to be better in all the areas I love about the batwing. I was wrong. I do have to say I am happy with the added 103 torque of both machines. My 88 was definitely under powered. Now all I need to do is make my best deal on the LTD. I am not in the "Road Glide is an ugly bike" camp. I wanted one because I love the look. I just like the Limited better. Happy touring.

Opposite for me, I traded in my '11 Ultra Limited for my fugly and don't regret it one bit.
I used to think they were ugly but they have really grown on me. That was before I took it for a ride. However, to be sure I am going to test ride the RGC, street glide and road king back to back to make sure. I do not want any doubts when I hand over my trade in and check! I already have my wish list of mods started.

That will be the best thing to do, and you will love the King, think the SG is cool because of a fairing and tunes, and then realize the Road Glide has the best of both, superior handling, great wind protection, and music.
Well there is a heck of a difference if you go from an '02 EGU to a '11 EGU.
I do realize that. I had ridden my buddy's 08 ECU with the 103 in it. That engine alone was amazing compared to my 88. The RGU I picked up is a CVO but did not want that to be another influence. Just the stability of the shark nose has me hooked. The over all ease of maneuvering is another great factor.

to the op, if you think you can't sleep now, wait until you buy the bike and replace that little toenail of a windscreen with a proper one, and upgrade the stock speakers...... you'll be planning 200 mile trips one way, just for lunch
Don't listen to him ( I know he's busting chops)
There's plenty of headlight there and I find the handlebar controls for the radio within reach quite well.

every time i hear someone say that about the radio, it makes me think of the beggin strips commercial where gilbert godfrey says 'i'd get it myself but i don't have thumbs'

I was at a dealer the other day for some partts for my '04 EG Ultra. Having read a number of posts on here from members who LOVE the RG, figured I check one out. My first police bike was a '92 FXHP, so I'm no stranger to a fixed fairing. I also ride an '08 FLHTP, so I'm a die hard Electraglide fan, but I found myself REALLY liking the RG Ultra I looked at. I'm not going to be in the market for a new HD anytime in the forseeable future, but if I were I'd give the RGU serious consideration. I'm with you for now, spizzyman. But I'm going to keep an open mind when it comes to the Roadglide!

Reason: typos
trnewman: God often speaks to us in our sleep, so I think it would be reasonable to assume that He wants you to have the Road Glide. Better get down there today lest you fall into disobedience!
