Default Electra What model?

Ok i beed riding for several years. I ride a Dyna WG. I want to upgrade for more comfort as well as the wifes starting to ride more,CB,Radio etc
. The Dyna just is not as fun to ride with two people.
I am the type who usally nevers buys a bike new. I preferr a lightly used one.
One thing I know and am pretty sure on is I want a Ultra that is at least a 09! Ever one tells me the 09 's have at least 400 changes bigger frame better ride etc. I thought about a road glide but am going with the Electra because it comes with tour pack already installed.

Now to my question is there any real difference in the EG,EG Classic and the EG Ultra? And what should I expect to pay for a 09 model? My budget is around 18K....

...... Moco quit building the EG Standard a couple years ago.
... i think w/an $18k budget, you'll find a lot of selection for '09 & '10 models.

EG standard last made in 09 but doesn't come with a radio or tp. EGC comes with radio and tp. The UC comes with cb,intercom,tp speakers.

A few more items on the Ultra over the EGC. The EGC is still a damn good buy. The EGC doesn't have the CB or intercom, which I think is useless anyway. The Ultra has a few more doo dads like rear speakers and what others have already mentioned. Make sure you test ride a few. My wife didn't like the tour pack, she felt too cramped and confined. That's why we ended up with the Road King. Good luck, lots of low mileage used bikes out there.

For me, the best value is the Ultra Classic. I'm on my second one, having put 48k on my first one, and already have 13k on my second one (an '11 model). If you're going to do much riding with your wife, you can't beat the comfort of the Ultra. The intercom allows you to talk to each other very nicely, and the CB is great when riding with other bikers that have a CB. I'd think you could get a really nice one for 18k. I'd look at 09's and above if possible to get the new frame. I came off an '03 to the '11 and was amazed at the difference the new touring frame made in handling.

Good luck!!!

18k would get an 09 ultra around here no problem.

The EG Classic is much the same, lacks fairing lowers badges, tourpak brake lights and a few more things- incl. rear speakers and CB radio.

Who uses CB ?

Rear speakers, don't care as I use the space for my Tbag when touring and passenger is maybe 5% riding time.

tour pak brake lights take up interior room, I prefer the Classic tour pak, with just the side marker lights- and adding the airstream rack and LED kit can light up the rear

The Eg Std discontinued in 2009, aluminum colored motor, no radio, no tourpak

I paid $15 k for my 09 FLHTC 18 months ago

The ABS is really worthwhile, I wouldn't buy a bike with out it.

I bought a egc last year for 20k privately with a transferred maint plan that was a challenge to convince the dealer at first but the service was transferred eventually. i love this bike. i also still jump on the dyna but the comfort is amazing on the egc. i have added things to mine and none except for one idea came from the ultra. i have the soft harley lowers to block the majority of the wind through the engine guards. the ulta lowers would be nice. i prefer the single antenna on the tourpack. i would like the added lights standard on the ultra pack because it really would add that much more visibility to the back for cars behind you. i think the bike that really got my attention is the limited. my .02

I just went through this search and picked up an '08 Ultra with 8700 miles on it this past Friday. Traded the Road King with 46,000 on it. There are a lot of '08's, '09's and '10's out there so just be patient and do your research. I started with a very specific search on Cycle Trader and was surprised how many low mileage bikes there are out there.
Good Luck!

I chose the Classic because I didn't want the lowers. If I lived up north, where it's cooler I would have got the Ultra.
