142 page report from the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute studying the attention getting benefits, brake-flasher benefits, multiple brake configurations, and benefits of LEDs. You can read it or skip to the summary at the end if you want. It will tell you what 98% of most drivers know.

They are no substitute for an attentive, defensive driver but the benefits have been proven statistically.

I installed the brake lite kit, but I had alot of complaints with the red lenses..
"it looks like the brake light is always on"

So I blacked out the lightbar cavity and reinstalled the yellow lenses.

I also installed 3 "marker lights" under the tourpak..
They are hidden except when your behind me, they are set up as a brake light..Friends tell me it's very VISIBLE when braking

Works well for the past 3 yrs....

I installed the kuryakyn kit, which is similar to the HD kit, but it allows for a "3 blink" when you hit the break lights (blinks the brake lights 3 quick times when you apply the brakes). Simple install and I am happy with the results. You can choose to have the 3 blink or not with this kit.

I got a new Tail light from www.brightasslights.com. No need for anything else, IMHO.

I just added the L.E.D. spoilers to my saddlebags yesterday and wired them to my Badlands with everything else that's on the back. Everything is L.E.D. including the tour pak lights from RideTime. This is running lights only - before saddlebag lights.

I just upgraded my bike using BADLANDS produces. All LED taillights and the controller that makes the turn signals do everything.
Made a world of difference, if you can't see me now you're texting.

The Mistress has the Knight Riderz light from Custom Dynamics. For the price best money spent on the lady. The light goes back & forth until brakes are applied then it blinks 4 times and stays on steady until brakes are released. Mounted on tour pak just not over power the stock tour pak brake lights.

I read somewhere that only like 5% of MC accidents happen from the rear, but if more lights makes one feel better, go for it.

I personally try to avoid riding at night, and have only been nearly run down from behing twice - in broad f---- daylight!

Damn cagers!!!
