Personally I would go a little cheaper than the two you have here. One other thing, there are several specs in the HD shop manual that call for inch pounds. It's not hard to convert, but they are novice to have when working on the bike.

Before I would spend that kind of money on a ft lb torque wrench from Snap On (a great tool company by the way), I would split it up and spend about the same on a couple of really good wrenches...a ft lb wrench AND an inch pound wrench. Forget about converting a ft lb wrench to inch pounds. The accuracy of the torque is not satisfactory and you will end up over torquing.

Lowcountry, the snap on has settings for newton meters, inch pounds and foot pounds all in one 3/8 torque wrench. At least mine does.

You must mean 1/2" if it goes to 240 ft-lbs. Anyway, the one I use on my bikes is a 3/8" drive with about 100 ft-lbs top end. I don't think there are many things you will do yourself requiring more than that.

Get yourself a ft/lb and an inch/lb. you will need both. I would not pay $300+ for one. I got both and also the beam type which I use mostly. The high dollar wrenches will need calibrating quite often which is costly.
If you make a living wrenching, then maybe you need the top of the line wrench.

I have the second one. Great to be able to switch from in/lb to ft/lb with the same wrench. Mine beeps and vibrates when the setting is reached so you don't have to be able to see the readout when torquing. Also have a Snap-On 1/2 drive for higher torques like axle nuts. Its close to 30 years old and has never required adjustment when checked. And yes, I am a professional wrench.

Telling someone "if you dont wrench for a living dont buy snap-on" is like saying "if your not going to ride everyday dont buy a harley"! Man if you got the coin and want the best go for it. Over kill for the shade tree yes but holding the best tool made priceless.
