Rudy Projects here. Polarized, transition, progressive. Pretty pricey. I wouldn't do the transition again. None of the manufacturers that I've talked to, Rudy, Oakley, Wiley, etc., are able to get from night time clear to day time dark tint with prescriptions. I like my Rudy's, but they really don't get dark enough.

We will gaurantee any of our lenses to work as they are intended. Transitions Optical just released a new lens called Vantage. It's a polarized transitions. They go completely clear to a grey 5. Which is the darkest you can get with sunglasses. Not only will it eliminate glare but also act as one pair for any conditions or sunlight. It's only available with prescription at this time. I expect them to be available in stock frames by the beginning of next year. It was just released last month...many of the dealers won't do anything until the new year...

The cheapest place for decent presciption sun glasses I have found is my Walmart vision center.
My Walmart store stocks a variety of Liberty Bikers glasses (plus many others)
.....and is over $150 cheaper than the store at the eye doctors office for the same exact glasses.
Make sure you are getting a shater proof lens. You will get hit with a rock someday.

I'm not an eye doctor, so we don't mark up prices like they do. However, I've been in the optical industry for 10yrs and can tell you that Wally World is just as expensive as they eye doctor. They make it seem cheaper with their motto, but I would be glad to compare any prices that they have with ours. Matter of fact, I would guarantee we'll beat them!

Glasses are like boots and shoes to me, I need to try them on first. I have a pair of prescription Oakley's and a pair of prescription Wiley X's sitting in the drawer at home because they aren't comfy enough.
The Oakley's I can't wear with a helmet because of the way the temples are long and the Wiley X's are too tight on my head.

I am the same way. I won't buy unless I can try on first. I've seen lots of cool frames on a display that, when put on, make me look like a Bug-Eye Sprite. We are fortunate in KC that we have a rider that owns a eyeglass shop. He carries all the major brands of riding glasses plus he will custom grind lenses to put in most any frame. He even can reshape frames for a more custom fit.

I was talking about the eye doctor not you. I just looked at glasses last week and the eye doctor had the same exact frames for over $100 more than I paid at Wally World. Plus the eye docs lens were twice as much once you added the shatterproof polarized lens.

If you shop around your local store and find a particular pair you like, write the frame information down and then shop online for the best deal...generally our frames are all about 10% better pricing than any other site.
