Default SE 225 cams

I am looking to upgrade my cams in my 09 EGC. I have been interested in the SE 255's but I know there are others that are very similar. I am wondering if I am riding 1 up most of the time and spend 95% of the time between 2000 and 4500 RPM what cams will perform the best. Also where to buy all the parts needed to make the upgrade. I am running a stock TC96 with stage 1 air cleaner PCV and Vance and Hines Pro Pipe. Thanks in advance.

ebay is a good source of parts. look for folks who bought stage II 103 kits and never used the cams and are selling them separately. stay away from used cams....you don't know what you are really getting....could be getting stripped gear bolt holes...chipped or worn gears ....scorned bushing mating surfaces.

Thanks, I must have picked the wrong time to look for cams on ebay I am not seeing any 255's. What others have similar torque curves? Oh I am going to need the tool to get the bearings out and re install them too.

Someone had a new SE255 in the classified yesterday, that's another option you might consider. Online HD dealers like Surdyke might be another option to Ebay.
You might also consider the Andrews 48H, it's just a touch hotter than the SE255, but shouldn't be too far from the 255 at lower RPM's. DirectHarleyParts has these for a reasonable price. I'm tempted to go with the 48H for my stage 1 96TC.
I was looking at going with adjustable rods and gasket kit from Fuel Moto, and Ebay for the bearing tool.

If you go to the "Performance Cams" section of site sponsor Fuel Moto http://www.fuelmotousa.com you will find some a comparative dyno between the SE 255 and the Woods 555. If I'm reading it correctly, the Woods gives you a 10 hp/6 ft lbs increase over the SE with a full stage one on both bikes.

I would go with Andrews 48h in a stock 96. Cheap and proven! I just sold the 225s out of my 103 kit for $200 and going with Andrews 54h (gonna add some compression). The 225s would work for ya but they make heat and run out of breath early imho (epa cams). The woods cams like more compression and lose some low end, but they make power.

Like you I spend most of my time 2000 to 4500 rpm. I just put the 255's in with Power Duals and gained 22hp and 22 ft. lbs. of torque. Got mine off ebay for $180 delivered.
