I just installed a CB radio on my Road King ... the antennae (3 ft) fits on a license plate bracket ... in the wind, it starts whipping and whacks my wife on the head (good reason to wear a helmet ) ...

I guess my options are (and no, removing my wife off the back is not an option):
1) smaller antennae ?
2) longer bracket to move the antennae back ?
3) add some sort of shaft to make the lower part of the antennae stiffer ?

Any thoughts?

thank you!
( and Happy New Year!)
My wife is so damn hard headed. I guess that why I don't hear about it hitting her.

Oh, well if that's what you were looking for, here is the link for those: http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....uctID=HRUP-ATM

If anyone wants the one for Street Glides or without the tour pack: http://www.jmcorp.com/ProductDetail....uctID=HRUP-ARL

Now, I have not personally used any of these antennas and I've actually ordered the AntennaX replacement to try it out. If I don't like the reception with those, I'll try these next. It may sound crazy, but I actually listen to AM talk radio so reception is important to me.

Shakespheare makes the antenna and I put it on the underside of the lip just above the radio in the fairing. It has several self stick adhesive spots you can use to arrange the antenna strip. I made it lay out about the length of the windshield.

Mount it on top of wifey's helmet. You'll always be able to strike up a conversation in a bar and get free beers

Wifeys make a great 'ground plane reflective surface' (radio lingo).

These are the antennas that I replaced my stock whips with from J&M.
HRUP-ATM. They simply replace your existing stock antennas. Loosen the set screw and unscrew the original . Screw on the J&M antenna and tighten the set screw.
One for the CB and another for the radio.

I realy like them

Just to let y'all know, I received my AntennaX yesterday and tested it out on the commute today. Reception was excellent, every bit as good as the OEM whip.

I bought the EuroSport 15" antenna and it attached to my SG with no adapters. The only thing I don't like about it is the lack of a set screw, but I don't think it will back off the mount.

I was at the dealer today and saw the antenna on the 2008 streetglide, It's alot shorter than the one on my 2006 streetglide. The salesmen said it will fit my bike and is just as good as the whip antenna I got now. The antenna is only 15.00.
