Default 95 vs 103

Some people have said their numbers for a 95" build are similar to a 103". Most of the 95's want 100/100 or better. What does a 103" build get you?

About $3000 lighter in the wallet.

Most people stick to 95" since it's an easy upgrade. If you go to 103" you have to split the cases and replace the crank assembly. It is a lot more work, a lot more money, but in the end you will get more power.

06 model, I get 118 hp/tq , find you a good after market builder and you'll get it done for around $5000 on 06 and older, a lot less for 07 models.
My dyno chart is in the Dyno section shows cams, pipes, etc.

What ever you decide do it right the first time, it really gets expensive going back

I don't think the cost gets you a good value for your money. My 95 makes more power than a lot of 103's and cost substantially less. To make mine a 103 I would possibly only gain 10% more power at a cost of about an additional $3000.00 to do it right.

Yea but Jeepster you have to admit, not very many 95" have the hp your putting out, most cases 95" build will be in the 100/100 range

Very well built 95's will be 100/100. Most aren't. It is not a given. There have been a number of threads chronicalling 95 builds, such as NoGood & Maine & 90ish hp & Torque seems to be very good. Gertting 100/100 out of a 95 motor is not easy.

103's will add more power, but the labor is much more, with splitting of the cases. The performance improvement is smaller than the jump from 88-95. As with high performance cars, the initial improvents are cheap, comparitively. When you are already fast, then next steps are costly, for small gains.
