Planning my build package.....
So I have decided to get a D&D Fat-Cat 2 into 1 with a SE HB filter and a SERT. That I guess will be stage 1...the begining of the end of my savings account
Now in trying to plan for what I want to do in the future (tax return
)and what I can expect in the way of returns for my efforts....I have an '09 Fat Bob with a 95" and want to wake it up, so I plan to do a little engine work. I am thinking about some Stage II headwork (1.9 int / 1.63 exh valves 165-170 cfm flow) and with that, maybe some Woods TW6 or some Andrews 55H cams. Compression will be right around 10-1 ( will that need comp releases?). Is there anything else I would need to do to hit these numbers? What about the cams, stay with chain or go with gears? The answers to these questions seem to be based on experiance with these type of engine builds.
I am trying to get 110 + ft.lb. /100 + hp-ish power numbers on a streetable build. I don't want to have to wring the motor out everytime I want to feel some power either. A ways down the road, I may go to 103", but I really don't see myself going any further with the build than that. If the headwork and cams make me happy enough, it won't see the 103" untill it is time for a rebuild several years from now.
Good luck and have fun, it only gets worse from here!

Then you'll need cubes...look at some dyno sheets; never mind the peak numbers but focus on where in the RPM band the TORQUE comes on and how smooth the curve is. You should be able to find a build that represents what you want...then carefully choose a builder and go from there...oh yeah; you can check back here for free opinions, too.
It's good to know I can save about $400+ on doing the gear conversion. Thanks paul s.
