breadman51,
I had a set of Custom Cycle Sounds speakers on my VTX and they sounded great ,especially when hooked up to my MP3 player. They have great customer service too. I bought the speakers used and one of the speakers blew after having them for about a year, they repaired the speaker at no charge and shipped it back at their expence even though I told them up front that I wasn't the origional owner. Here is there website www.customcyclesounds.com

J&M is the largest dealer-support network if you're not that much of a DIY'er, otherwise the sky's the limit. You can make your own housings from hand-laid fiberglass, wood, tin, etc. If you go tin, you'll want to insulate the housings to eliminate vibrations similar to rapmobiles shaking the metal. Many different car speakers available, speaker rebuild stores offer grille frames in every size. The last one I did was on my '96 E-Glide. Pioneer 5" co-ax, 5"grille frames sprayed with 3M aerosol adhesive and swimsuit cloth from JoAnn fabric in a matching color stretched over the tacky, glue-sprayed frames. That's the method I picked up from a lowrider shop, they use it for headliners and side panels. In a nutshell, off-the-shelf or custom?
I have a set of UNIQ powered speakers coming tomorrow. For the price I thought I would give them a try.
I will let you know in a few days how they do. http://www.uniqcycle.com/
