My bike looks like a paint shaker at idle... 21,000 miles on her... been told several times it's "normal" and my motor mounts were fine when checked at the 20K service interval...
most Harley "A" motor bikes I've seen vibrate like mine.... makes me jealous of a co-worker that has a 103B...
First thing my wife said after I bought mine, WTF is up with the engine shake...told her dont be envious but im on a Harley and thats how they tell you your on a real cruiser......her response is not necessary but after a year of riding with me, she wants a Road King also.....hummm guess it spoke loud and clear
My '07 shakes pretty bad at idle, off idle it barely vibrates at all. What it the fix for this, open it up and install the timken bearings if the crackshaft runout is to high?
The A motors do shake and vibrate, it is normal from idle up through about 18-2200 RPM, but it can be greatly reduced by a proper individual cylinder tune.
Just replaced my front motor mount with a Glide Pro. My handle bars use to shake like they were going to fly off. Now with the Glide Pro mount it does not shake at all. I tried a couple Harley mounts and some after market ones but the Glide Pro did the trick. Best $100 I ever spent.
Clap
My '08 Street Glide had a bad vibration at idle and only had 5,000 miles at the time. I changed the front motor mount to a Glide Pro and it smoothed it out. www.glide-pro.com
I took mine into Trask Performance to have them take a look at it. The guy walked out turned it on and said, "it's an '07 right, the crank shaft has scissored, I've seen it on alot of '07's". Said he could tell by the way it shook at idle and by the noise it was making. Looks like about $4K to fix it, $hit!!! If the crank is still ok they will weld it and rebalance it, if the cylinder heads have been worn out of round they will have to be bored 10 over, new pistons, push rods, and might as well throw in some new cams while in there, all new motor mounts, etc. Fix it or trade for a new one?!?!?!

If that is the case pick up a slightly used 96" off ebay for half of what your estimate is.
2007 motors were the first with the crankshaft run-out issues. Hopefully not yours, but if you don't find the cause of the vibration, you may want to investigate your cranks deviation.
yes...especially if the IDS was not installed ......
