Was cruising an accessory website and saw a triple tree wind deflector for HD touring models. Would like feedback from those who may have installed one.
Makes a slight difference with air coming up in front of the tank.
I put one of my Pal's FLHTK and he didn't notice any difference- then I pointed in out to him...and he still didn't notice any difference.
It may help in the rain, a lot of spray can come up inside the fairing- I stretch a bungee across the mirror stalks and hang a rag over it to catch the spray
Some say it doesn't do much. Harley has put on some models and not others.
I have it on my S/E Road Glide, and with the lowers installed it takes a lot of the air blasting up in front of the tank away. ( Which is really nice in a rainstorm.)
I do think the lowers make a big difference with the baffle together.
Works well when used withvthe fork lowers. Not as well by itself. They say it can affect the motor in hot weather. Forces air down to the front cylinder, but not the rear one.
First mod I made. I noticed immediately that my sunglasses didn't jump around anymore. I'm sure individual heights and other mods can affect results but I am a fan.
I had one and took it off recently. Rode about a hundred miles in the rain and didn't notice any difference as far as rain coming up the tank. I was concerned that it might block air flow to the heads and removed it.
