Default Passing Lamp Replacement Bulb- Help!

I have the passing lamp kit on my Street Glide and one of the bulbs burned out- it is the halogen bulb in the relector optic assembly. Are these replaceable? I'd hate to have to buy a pair of the lamps at the delaer for $70.

I read somewhere that the replacement halogens can even be found at the local auto parts store... True?

Thanks!

Default Stock bulb

The stock bulb is a GE 881L. The L designation is for long life.

second that and you can find brighter whiter bulbs by searching the net, but the base bulb is the 881

The "L" stands for longer life? My ***!!! It didn't last more than a few hours after the lighting kit was installed on my Street Glide!

I agree L long life, I had about 5 hours on the kit I put on my street glide. I took off the passing lamp took off the rubber housing in the back, pulled the bulb and went to autozone for a replacement. About 7 bucks if I remember right, much cheaper than buying new passing lamp sets and getting a solid 5-7 hours out of the them.

My '05 had sealed beams that lasted around 6 years and around 38K miles give or take. Unfotunately, I could not find a replacement anywhere...online...NAPA...Nothing. Had to do the upgrade plug in conversion. About a year and 4K later and they're working fine.

Five to Seven hours out of a bulb is unacceptable...Those are some serious Chinese POS bulbs.

You did clean each bulb with alcohol after installing correct?

A single greasy finger print can cause them to burn out within hours.
