I had my wife do the same thing...I can't tell from the pic where the foam is at. Is it between the filler and the fender?

It's amazing how a 2.50 roll of weather striping fixes a 20,000$ motorcycle put the foam between the bracket and the facia and the rattle is gone

Take a look at a 2009. There's a rubber bumper on the plate mount that prevents the plate from rattling against the fender. Far as I know, the bumper would probably work on newer models also. Must have saved millions by eliminating that one part.

I just checked mine and the rubber is between the fender and bracket but its hanging out a good bit. What do i have to remove to put a new piece of weather stripping in there? It looks like the bracket runs back toward the fender and around to the other side.

It isnt the license plate bracket on mine that is vibrating. It is the rear fascia around the fender. Most notably where the light is at the bottom of the fender.

I have a 06 street glide. On my third Kuryakyn curved license plate bracket. The first one was the orignal design it broke. The second one was of new design thought I was all set it also broke and took out the threads in the light bar. Helicoil repair on light bar now used hex bolts instead of button heads and was able to use longer ones also. Instead of using that sponge stick on crap that comes with it I took a piece of 1/4 inch rubber fuel line and attached it with a wire tie problem solved.

Same here. I stuck some gasket material behind from inside of fender. Time will tell if it will help or even stay in place. --Brainstorming for another solution.

Another customer was in there while i was there and said his did the same thing but he never figured out what was causing it he just started tightening every nut and bolt on the back of the bike. Ive done that and everything is tight. BUT the facia that goes between the saddle bags that includes the fender light is loose and there seems to be no way to tighten it up. So anyway Harley supposedly looked at it and said yep we fixed it we put 2 sided tape on it??? Did nothing to help it. I ended up sticking two little pieces of rubber between the fender light and the fender itself and siliconing it from the backside. It helped but now its back to doing it some just not as bad. Its ridiculous to pay 20k for something and have to just deal with a flaw. Anyone ran across this or have any suggestions?
I have the 2011 and have the same problem. I have the detachable passenger seat and luggage rack and thought it was that because if I keep those from moving the noise some what stops, but if I remove them that the noise is still there.

Pull the right bag and look where the mount goes up behind the fender.
This sounds like a good place to look. I'll have to try this, thanks.

what did you do here? just tighten the bolt up? is it the place where the fender bolts to the bracket or where the two brackets bolt together? i have not heard mine ratteling, but that don't mean it's not.
maybe more pic's if you can.
