The ones using the 1156 bulbs on the rear are those that have the center tail light. The Street Custom and Road Glide Custom that have just the Turn Signal bar with both brake/Turn signals, but no center light use the 1157 bulb.
I am running the Badlands LE and Radiants LEDs on my rear. They are BRIGHT!! I like the Badlands better than the Harley because when the turn signal is used, the light will dim/bright, like a dual filament bulb (1157). With most others, when you use the turn signal, the light will go out completely when flashing. That is less light on the rear. The Radiants LED are just a "Plug-N-Play". I just pluged them in and that was it. I am using clear len
