I bit the bullet and had my HD dealer install a Garmin 665 I purchased from them. First they forgot (or didnt know) to install the XM radio antenna that was in the box. Second, they plugged it into the exterior radio AUX plug (yes I purchased the NIM). So the only way it works is on Auxilary and will not interupt over the radio...What are these dealers problems or am I wrong on how this should work? I thought it would interupt over the music with or without intercom system on...
With the NIM the directions will interrupt the music on radio, XM, CD, and MP3s. The AUX cable is to get the XM and MP3s to the radio and it has to be in AUX mode. Sucks that they did not mount the antenna. I have mine mounted right over the radio and get decent reception. Have to make sure the wire bundles are not on top of the antenna.
Check and make sure the speaker switch is all the way to the rear and lit up. In this position the directions music comes over the speakers. In the middle position the directions go over the headset.
