here goes will try to keep it short....I ordered the Hi Viz Green colored rain from Lake Shore HD over a month ago...After not recieving after 3 weeks of waiting I emailed and called them...the man I talked to on phone seemed a little shocked as if he knew they screwed up and promised me that I would have one soon...Two days after my email/phone call the UPS man shows up to my house with box (it's a miracle)....After unpacking the contents I recieved the correct size Large Jacket and the uncorrect size 5XXXXXL pants (no, I am not joking.) I immediately shot a email off to Lake Shore with frustration and unhappiness...Again the man at Lake Shore said that he would send me another one they had in stock or instead send me the Orange Hi Viz rain suit for he was pretty sure they had my size in that color....After waiting on his email the next day, I got a message from him simply stating that "I am just going to refund u the money for this item and consider this a closed close." All this after he knew I wanted/needed a new rain suit for a trip I'm taking off on next week...My first experience with this company was a complete failure...Might be my last as well...
Unusual for LSHD - but they gave you a full refund. Can't be all that bad. Did he want you to return the items? If not then I'd say you're out ahead. You can always pay full price at the local dealer for what you need and sell the unwanted items later. If you've still got the jacket and a full refund you're sitting pretty.
Agreed that this is unusual from LSHD but it was probably just an honest mistake which you overreacted to. I understand your frustration with a pending trip but going off on people generally doesn't get you too far and should always be the last resort. My guess is that Bill just refunded your money so he wouldn't have to deal with your hot headed emails and phone calls. After all, they get plenty of business from customers who don't "shoot off emails with frustration and unhappiness." Honestly, I'd probably have made the same choice in his position.
A 2-3 week delay before shipping is normal for any online dealer because they generally order the parts from HD after you place the order. So, you're waiting for HD to ship to LSHD, LHSD to repackage and ship, plus the time spent on a UPS truck both times. If you need something immediately, go pay MSRP at your local dealer. If you have time and want to save 20%, go to LSHD.
I'll close with the fact that I am in no way associated with LSHD but I have ordered about $2,500 in parts from them and have always had a quick response to all my (non-hot headed) inquiries, etc. Can't say the same for Surdyke which is why LSHD gets all my business. Good luck with the other online dealers because you're going to have a hell of a time finding one who will beat LSHD and it sounds as if you may not be able to do business with them even if you change your mind (depending on what was actually said in your emails).
nope, all items have been returned...Still have no recieved the refund...I know it's a little early yet...it was just picked up 2 days ago...
Oh well - sorry to hear you've had a problem. I've bought more stuff from LSHD than I care to think about. Never a problem - sometimes I've had to wait a bit. Assuming you bought with a credit card you can put the item into dispute if you don't get a timely refund.
I wouldn't write them off though. They'll save you a pretty penny over the years as long as they keep offering the discount.
I have had probably 50 transactions with Lake Shore. Bill Sparks has always done a great job getting my stuff to me. I only had one small incident where an order got lost but they made it good immediately when noticed. Very unusual anomoloy for them.
I had similar activity with them, had an issue with regulator they sent no refund so now shop at Surdyke. I buy all electronics locally.

I had a similar experience, with a different ending. The exact dates might be a little off.
I ordered a Harley Rain suit in the beginning of March. After two weeks, I emailed LSHD. I received a response from Bill Sparks, within 24hrs, that the rain suits were on backorder until April 15th. I told him I needed it for a trip and I was leaving on May 1st. He said he would keep me posted.
On April 16th, I sent another email inquiring about the rain suits. Bill got back to me within 24hrs and said he would check. Shortly after the first email, he said the rain suits were now on backorder until May. I cancelled the order and bought a different suit elsewhere.
I'm not trying to defend LSHD. I am just pointing out that Bill responded quickly to me, and it appears there was a problem with the rain suits that was out of their control.
I have had several other purchases with LSHD and all went quickly and smoothly.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. I've been fortunate and had nothing but good luck with them. The only time anything was remotely negative was when I ordered the wrong p/n item from them, but it was a Drag Specialties catalog item, so it can't be returned. My fault, though, not theirs.

Sounds like ur the jumpy one here...U completely missed the point...Point was I was so surprised it came to this after how good he was to me and what he had promised to me on the phone....
