I have done some searching but the answers were clear as mud.
Can anyone who has lowered their touring bike (and more specifically their street glide) recommend a kit and comment on the quality of both the kit and the ride after it was installed?
I want to lower the back some to effectively raise the front and have my head lower behind the fairing and be able to run a shorter windshield. Replacing the seat is not an option.
ok here is what i did . i sent my stock seat to MeanCity Cycle to have it lowerd and narrowed ,memory foam added .this was very thrifty came back looking great , just like stock but a cple inchs lower and narrower .
Total cost for the mod was just under $150 the price varys depending on the mod . http://www.meancitycycles.com/index....age&Itemid=227
i also bought some Bitchin Bagger 11" drop shocks .
you can send them your stock shocks to shorten or a set of thrifty take of shocks from ebay . they add a stop so they can't bottom out and tear up your wiring like lowering blocks .
I used LA Choppers lowering blocks. I love the looks and it still rides about the same because my shocks are the same and the LA Choppers kit lowers the shock stright down instead of back like alot of the kits.....and it is only like $90 for the kit
I have a 2011 FLTRU and I did the Street Glide shocks in the rear, the Progressive Mono-Tube up front with a 2" drop and a reach seat. I'm 5'7" and am flat footed now and it rides extremely nice. Not much clearance up front on the fender, but so far so good.
