But I reach over grab hand brake and swing leg over same with getting off. Maybe my size has something do with it.
Sounds like that's what he did all right. I might drop mine, but not ever because I got off on the right side.

I've slow dropped my RG twice in my driveway due to uneven asphalt and sand. Good thing there has always been someone around to help me pick it up. I have bad knees and a bad back and can't pick it up using the prescribed method. Just can't squat down low enough and if I could I couldn't lift with my bad knees and back.
Because of this, I am extremely careful when on the road to make sure I have a firm footing where I am stopping and not do anything stupid to lay down the bike.

Been there done that twice. Once at home on the yard, and once in a public parking lot. If your not hurt, don't care who you are the first thing we do is see who saw it (that's the pride part). Give props to this site for leading me to the video that shows if down on right side, put stand down to avoid going over on the left side.

dropped my '11 SG on my 1st trip out w/my buddy...thought the kickstand was out and down the slippery slope we went, luckily the engine guards did what they are suppose to do. I never had the problem w/my dyna and the kickstand and now I'm super neurotic about always checking that it's fully out.

Happened to me too, had hip surgery and got back on the bike too soon. Tried pulling it into my shed which is a tight right turn and over I went. Pinned me against the wall and couldn't move, had to scream for my buddy around the corner to come pull it off me. Boy was I embarrassed and now he gets to bring it up all the time!

was getting off the left side, kickstand was down. desperate for coffee, didn't wait for the bike to settle on the kickstand. thought the bike's center of gravity was leaning toward the kickstand side. i was wrong and when i swung my leg over the bike went the other way. the good news is that my 2 new knees worked great. and only a thin scratch on the corner of the saddlebag. the rest of the ride, 95 and 40 to kingman then 66 to seligman, and 40 back to parker was great.

I am really beginning to see that the dreaded "bike-drop" might be much more common than I thought. A couple of weeks after I got the RK I pulled up to a stop sign and dropped both feet. The trouble is that my right foot went into a pothole. I didn't actually loose it but cam damn close. I don't know where the strength came from but another 1/2" and it would have been down.

I have a buddy with a SE Road Glide with almost 300k on the clock. He is the most skilled rider I know. He can maneuver that big bike like it weighs 50 pounds. He pulled into my driveway over the weekend with his faring all scraped up. Yes, even HE dumped it. I guess we are all human after all.

As for me, I had a couple of close calls, one with a Deuce and one with my RK. But I have to confess, I did drop a GW, back in my pre-Harley days!
