drain screw lower
hi. i want to change my oil drain screw on lower leg with hex screw what size i need,, do have to put that copper washer.been looking for hour. only size i found 5´16 18 i know i read this on forum before thank mr fuji
Yes the copper washer needs to be used. You cannot use a hex head if the round head sits below the surface of the fork leg and the hex head won't sit below the surface. I highly doubt it is 5/16" , I would bet it's metric .
It is a metric thread, but I can't remember the size off hand. The copper washer is a crush washer specifically designed to be used under the head of a cap screw to create a seal. Eliminating this type screw and copper washer for a flush set screw is counter productive. Your forks won't be sealed. If the MoCo wanted a flush type set screw they would have used a tapered plug. Why ***** with it?
some people must have understood, protestor or separatist, he got quite a few answers!
