does Don tune with the tts mastertune or just the sept
I never did get to DynoTunes this past summer, but I did have a chance to talk to Don at his shop in Mount Hope.
He does not tune Power Commanders. He recommends going to Bruce.
He loves the SEPT. When i asked him about the TTS Mastertune, his reply was 'don't waste your money, it can't do half of what the SEPT can.' Further discussion about the TTS made it obvious that he just hasn't kept up with updates or technology.

yeah I read on another website that he told a guy that the tts was a stone age tuner ,I think it is like you say he just hasn't kept up with the times and is mistaking the tts for another brand tuner,he would probably be good with it as he likes the sept and they are pretty much the same thing.too bad because we need a good tts tuner in Ontario.
thought this thread died a few months ago. well as I found out dyno tunes likes power commander and from lots Ive talked say they say they are great at it. As for se race tuner others say dyno tunes isnt so good and as I found out by watching the tune no smart tune runs ,absolutely no changes to the map what so ever from a harley race tune file. forgets to turn on my acrs, tells me I had over 100 hp after the tune then I look at sheet later and its 93 then doesnt bend over backwards to correct the acr mistake, all this tells me if Im using a race tuner stay away.
I seen a few bikes Don has done at 125 tq and 120 hp his engineering, his tuning, on a 103 not 106 or 107 this kind of power he has to know what he is doing, maybe he just likes se racetuner over tts. all I can say a guy that is honest enough to say what I can expect with the bad combination I picked on my own will do to my tune and recommend a fix for no fee's at all talking for 40 minutes on his dime is a guy I want to do business with. all I know is I will never spend another dime at Dyno tunes again.
over the next year I plan on boring my stock cylinders out not sure if they will be a spare set 103 or may go to 106-107 , probably will get my stock heads reworked by Don and get rid of my se mva heads , and throttle body redone,, for now the bike is running great with the andrews 32 I put in the bike after I had a lifter start acting up causing the bike to stall. found a few pits on the roller so I changed the cams to ones better suited for the 10.5 compression I had, starts much easier now with a more correct ccp.
in all fairness to dyno tunes as far as power commanders go they are probably the best from what I can gather from power commander users, but I aint buying one to find out how good they are at it.

Having dealt with both guys, I agree with what has been said here. To sum it up, if you use the SEPST tuner, go to Don, since that's all he will tune with. If you already have the Power Commander, then go to Bruce, I guess. Putting that aside, I trust Don 100% because I know he is staight up- no BS....Bruce, not so sure from what I've read here.
As someone said, there is no choice for those of us with the TTS. The only one that tunes with it is Task Performance near Ancaster, but I heard they don't even have a dyno, so I don't know what kind of proper tune they could do (probably just a v tune).
At some point I want to have Don do his 110 package on my bike, but I really don't want to spend an extra $400 on the SEPST and be forced to use my TTS as a paperweight.
As far as getting just a tune done with the TTS, I would head down to PA to see Dave at JD's Cycle Works, or Zepka's HD- both are highly recommended as TTS tuners.

You are correct, Task does not have a dyno. He's an authorized dealer for TTS in Canada. He also deals with Fulsac Performance in AZ. Maybe he's using a canned map from them??? I didn't get a warm fuzzy when i spoke to him about mods & tuning.
The other option for Southern Ontario riders is to take your bike to one of the US dealers. American H-D in Tonawanda & Gowanda H-D both have dynos.
