I have an Electra Glide Classic with a stock windshield. Since this is the first windshield that I look through instead of over, I thought that might pose a problem when it rains. So, I bought a bottle of Rain X thinking this would help. However, when I read the instructions on the bottle, it states not to use on plastic windshields unless approved by the manufacturer. Great....
Does anyone know if Rain X can be used on my stock windshield, or did I just waste my money (Yet again).

Should be ok, I'd check a small unseen area first and make sure. although, we are in the works of making a permanent rain-x coated windshield if you like Rain-x. Thats why I say it shouldn't be a problem, but like since the stock shield is polycarb I believe you should test it just to make sure

It apparently deteriorates plastic over time and causes it to cloud. There are similar products to rain-ex that are safe on plexiglass and plastic.
good to know fat_tony! Guess it depends on the windshield. Polycarbonate is kind of touchy. I wax mine with the bike, that's always done the trick for me.

Okay, to be safe I shelved the Rain X. I also bought some Turtle Wax Ice synthetic polish because it said it's safe on all painted surfaces, plastic or metal. Anyone use this product with good results ? Can I use this on my windshield and would it help when it's raining (Similar to Rain X) ?

I've used this one too. I use this on my truck, on all the plastic, glass everything. Seems to help bead the water better. Doesn't last long though. But it is good for bikes since you can use it on everything. smells good too
Wax or plastic polish work when applied before riding in rain. Even Pledge would do. Rainx will fog polycarb over time. Also, consider a shorter shield or cut your's down. LRS has some reasonably price shields. So does Clearview.
no on the rain x unless you want to buy a new shield , wax is the best but the only sure think is to avoid rain , I use a piece of chrome door edge molding around the out side edge as this keeps the rain from rolling around to the inside , makes it bead up and blow off
