Default Intake Tick!!!

I just finished my cam install last week (SE255). After I got finished, I noticed an exhaust leak, or so I thought, since I didn't change the gaskets. I swapped new gaskets, and cranked it up. I still had the leak? I got home, started it up, listened, and it's no exhaust leak. I'm running an open Se Stage one Air Cleaner, and noticed it through the intake. I pulled the filter off, and it got louder. I tightened all the bolts, and they were good. If I put a cloth over the throttle body it goes away. What in the He'll could it be??

I think you can hear the motor noises better through a High Flow AC regardless of what cams are in it.

Did you change both on the same day?

I have the same cams with a SE Heavy Breather, same noise. Seems to be louder when it is cold but does it all the time. A good friend of mine is a master tech at the local dealership and he told me that the motor sounds are more pronounced with a cam change and that is what I am hearing. He said that they hear it in a lot of bikes. Hope it's not a case of "oh, that's normal", but they didn't do the cams at the dealership and he is a good friend so I've been running it. Been over a month and no issues.

Thanks guys, I looked it up and kind of put it together that it's normal, but glad i got a little reassurance. I just hate exhaust leaks, and thats what it sounds like.

I have the se255 in my bike and noticed the same thing...I think its just the valves slamming shut....its been a few months and the bike still runs great, so I don't worry about it...

I've heard same, between cams and better breathing intake, you're just hearing the motor sounds more is my guess

What you are hearing is the solenoids in the fuel injectors snapping open and closed!
