Not on mine. Its much louder than that.

 

As mentioned before, it is a function of the cams causing valve overlap. It is even more pronounced on higher lift and overlapping cams. It would be annoying if having all that extra oomph wasn't so damn much fun!

 

I installed cfr's on my 12 flhx a few months ago with the stock air filter and football; sounded great. Then installed a winner open air intake and couldn't stand the sound of the ticking and it also took away from the sound of The cfr's. Installed the stock air filter and football,sounds great again.

 

just play loud music ..that's how I fix my ticks.. It's Normal

 

My t6-6 are also loud as hell. It wasn't so bad when I had pennzoil in the crankcase but I just changed to mobil 1 v-twin and it sounds like a can of marbles bouncing around in there.
I'm seriously considering switching it out. I'm testing every syn and conventional oil in my bike to see for myself if there is any difference and whether or not paying top dollar for syn oil is even worth it.
