I'm 6'4" and 255. I have a Corbin solo on the RG but for long rides, i.e. 500+ I put the bead rider on it with a hand towel under the bead rider. At each gas stop I kinda fluff the towel up again.
6'4" 235# and I have a sundowner. I haven't been on any long distance runs but I have spent most of a day on it during a poker run. It suits me and my wife just fine. I'm pretty sure the tall boy moves you further back as well so you would lose room and comfort for her, and that's not good with my ol lady!
On my 09 SG I run a road king seat for long rides and my factory seat in town, which I had recovered however I'm looking at the Russell day long or the new Harley air seat. Have a bad back and I catch hell on long rides! Anyone tried the new Harley seat? Oh yeah I'm 6'2 250.
I'm 6' and 230#s. When touring we do 400-800 mi a day. The last trip we did 4300 mi in a 10 day trip. Two of those days we were standing still. My seat for that trip was a Mustang ultra touring seat. It was comfortable for around 25000 mi and was replaced with a similar Mustang seat. After 10 mos of use it was sent back to Mustang for repairs. It was uncomfortable from day 1. I too am looking for a suitable replacement Gonna look at the Russell Day Long and the HD air seat. First though will try the Mustang seat when it is returned. Hoping that solves the problem.
I have used the stock seat on my 2000 and hated it. Went to a Sundowner and hated it. I am currently on a Mustang Touring seat with the adjustable backrest.
I am planning a long trip this weekend and that will tell me if this combo is the one.
6'5" and 230 here. I use the Sundowner. Very comfortable and great lumbar support. My wife is 6' and the pillion is great. I have a FLHR with the HD extended boards and leavers. It is stilla little short for me but since I have taken off the front crash bar there is a little more room.
Im only 6'2" but I weigh about 290. ( O.K. 300. Bastards)
I went and had a Corbin custom made.
720 miles out in one day and I was wasted on the stock seat.
850 miles back in one day and I could have done more.
