I have a 1993 FLHTC and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to make it look more modern or newer?? the rest of the bike is great it's just the gauges and such are showing age any help or suggestions or kits I can buy I havent seen anything thanks fellow forum members
it is a big operation, big expense to swap to the '96 up type everything...I think you could keep the voltmeter and oil pressure gauge, that's about it.
inner and outer fairings ( the outer is the same shape but does not interchange), mounts etc. lots of wiring...
from everywhere in the world but the cockpit, your 93 looks much the same as the newer models, don't worry about it.
BTW welcome to the forums.
there is also an evo forum- where by necessity riders are more hands on.
Most of the riders here are more familiar with late models
Its not as big adeal as you would think you can find inner fairing with goo gauges for around 250 on ebay just have to watch you can switch i think its 2 plugs in fairing from main, and the wires will be set up for gauges its about 3 to 4 hr job if you take your time and have tools!! Is outer fairing in good shape?
You really dont need kit for gauges up grade just need to take your time!
Hey thanks a bunch Mkguitar and Springer3. I'll have to research up on the project before I dig to deep. The bike itself is in awesome condition and it's very sentimental to me the bike was handed down to me from my Dad a week ago, and the bike has such an amazing history you wouldn't even believe me if i told you, it's been in numerous magazines world wide publications not because it's a tricked out bike cause it's not. I just want to personalize the bike to my liking a little bit. Thanks again guys and ride safe going to pick up a badlander seat in 30mins i'll get some pics up thanks.
