What's under the "six speed" plate

Default What's under the "six speed" plate
Very sorry guys, know I remember reading a thread about this, but no combination of search terms I try will find it.

On the right side of my 2012 FLHX, there is the "six speed" emblazoned on the side of the transmission. It appears to be just a stuck on plate or filler of some kind. What's under that? If I wanted to remove it, a little heat and goo gone later, is it clean enough to leave like that?

Has anyone seen any type of chrome filler for that spot? I recall seeing a glass one or something, but it's not something that would really "go" with the rest of the bike.

Someone posted a pic a while back showing it to just be a smooth chrome finish under the plate.

Smooth chrome. In fact, HD has several designer sets (willie g, live to ride, etc) that have transmission cover plates.

they have a chome insert that says six speed say as the stock, my dad had it

Its a smooth surface.. the six speed is a stick on emblem... carefully pry it off with a flat blade screwdriver... WD40 the glue or goo be gone...

What? I just checked Yaffee's site. I'm pissed he doesn't have a $200 cover available to tape on there.
