Thanks for the suggestions, will try some out. For the record, I don't use sandpaper...just use a clean microfiber towel . Same I've done on every windshield I've owned in 20+ years of riding, and never had any scratch, other than this one. I don't know...anyways, I'll try the Novus.

LRS is a great company and site sponsor and they have some great looking windshields at very, very good prices. However I wish they would go to polycarbonate for their material instead of the acrylic, even if a bit more expensive. I had one of their shields and loved it, however it cracked right up the middle. Also the dark tinting had more of a brown shade to it than the dark gray of the poly ones, if that makes any difference. I do know it did not match the color of my dark tinted H-D fairing mounted deflectors.

I moved to a FastAire 7" and am very happy with it.

LRS on my 03 Road King and lotsa big ole bugs here in and around Oklahoma and no scratches. I lay an old wet tee shirt on it and leave it on for an hour and then wipe the soften bugs off. I have not tried the hydrogen peroxide and water mixture but it sounds like the trick. I use meguiars on the face shield and it does a good job.

I just spray mine heavy with 'Pledge' (called Mr Sheen downunder) and let is sit for a few minutes then use 1 m-fiber cloth to get the main load off, then switch to a clean m-fiber to finish up.
I consider screens to be a consumable item and when it gets too scratchy I swap it out for a fresh one.
This works for me with the well priced LRS screens, but I might use another plan with those big dollar screens sitting in a box in the shed, none of which have been as effective at eliminating buffeting for me as well as the LRS screens.

Sorry dude, I was attempting to be humorous. My point was supposed to about softening them bugs before wiping. I made a short WS out of Lexan and wipe it the same way and no scratching there either.
The Novus should work. It's a bit pricey, but it has always worked for my needs.
