Hot is hot... i leave them on. Like how they make the bike look low and fat. Provides good weather protection and other benefits.

My lowers are the older style (02) so I don't have vents to open/close. I got the Rivco quick disconnect kit so I can take them off when I get to wherew I am going and I want the extra air flow. I like to leave them on for a trip in case of rain etc... I kept them on on the ride out to Sturgis 2 years ago, but they came right off as soon as we got to the rental and stayed in the garage for the week. Nice having the option.

Mine do not have vents but I've never taken them off. It can be chilly in the morning here and hot as hell in the afternoon. Highway pegs usually get some air flowing up your pant legs!

I took mine off a few weeks ago before our (Outer Banks, NC) bike week. Gives me a chance to clean/shine up ALL of the crash bar. Before any long trip I will re-install.
