At any rate, I use 1 or 2. As a dirt biker I'm programmed to keep as many fingers on the bars as possible for control. That 4 finger stuff doesn't work offroad, might find the same on the road in a bad situation.
Rode dirt for a few years and learned a new trade. No classes and no instructors. 40 years on a Harley it's 4 for me. If I need to go it's 5 on the gas. Never let me down.
Two finger braker here...no need to grab ton of front, unless necessary. Made the mistake back in 1975 on my 1st street bike (Yamaha 200 twin)...dumped on gravel turn by (1) going too fast & (2) panic grab front brake...
Try picking up something heavy like a suitcase with just two fingers and then try with all four. That alone should be enough to convince most I hope. You have more strength and more control with all four. As mentioned earlier, in motor school you are taught all four and get the pinky out near the ball on the end of the lever. Most leverage and max braking. Just because you can activate the ABS with two fingers doesn't mean your are braking properly. Chances are if you are using two fingers you are using the rear barke too much to compensate.
