WEll, I've had my new RGU for 2 weeksnow, and in spite of being sick have still put 700 miles on it. Love it more every time I get on it. One problem" Too Quiet". If I put on Jackpot 4 inch ovals, but leave the cat in would I still get a nice rumbling sound. I don't have any desire to be heard 1/4 miles aways, just a good tone. Anyone tried something like this? I'm pretty sure it would affect my warranty to cut it out.

I think a lot of the 'warranty effect' depends on your relationship with your dealer. I have a pretty good relationship with my primary dealership, and they work with me as much as possible. Most often, I think the dealership actually SEES your bike, and the MoCo, or the extended warranty Co. sees mostly paperwork. YMMV.
The jackpots will sound righteous with or without the Cat. I doubt the tech working on you bike will even notice or care about the cat being cutout. I took this pic when I had the shields off to show how subtle the weld can be:
I took mine off when I still had 300 miles on it and I'm very glad I did.
I put V&H Twin Slash Rounds on my 2011 Electra Glide Classic. My thought was I'll try them and if I they were too quiet, I gut the cat. Even with the catalytic converter in the head pipe, it still sounds really good.
As read articles here and talk to other people, I'm not sure there is a lot of sound gained by gutting the cat., more for heat reduction. Personally, I'm in that camp. Most of your sound quality will come from the mufflers, cat. or no cat.
I put CFR slipons on my bike right after buying it. Made it louder but no where loud enough for me. Will be doing more to the exhaust and motor next year.
I did the pipe, muffler and stg1 at 1K. The dealer had no problem with this as long as they did the tune on the SEPST, still have warranty. I think each dealer handles this differently. Get rid of the CAT best thing you can do, next to Ohlins shocks. How about some pics of the new ride?
I love my Rinehart 4" on my RGU. I can't get over how sweet sounding it is. I get a lot of complements on how they look with the 4" size and the sound.
